Wondering About the Future

Wow! It has been a while since I have written in this blog. I have been busy getting stuff going on facebook and twitter, though. This is such a great opportunity to connect with you and everyone around the world. What a day we live in.

What does tomorrow hold? What will happen in technology next? I drive a Camry hybrid. It gets around 38 miles per gallon on average. What is coming will only get better. Think of just a few years ago what kind of cell phones and computers we had. Hey, I did not have a computer when I was in college. We had to learn Fortran computer language and go to the Mainframe and print out some cards to give it commands. Then we had to come back latter to see our results. Now we have that much computing power in our cell phones.

I do like to watch shows that talk about technology possibilities. I think it is so interesting to see what technology could be some day. Give me an electric car I think it is great. Give me some solar panels and wind generators -- I would love to see my electric meter go backwards. My electric bill has gone up, how about yours.

I was just talking to my wife about how tedious it is to travel on commercial airlines. It is just that -- lines. You drive and find a place to park. You go stand in line to check in. You stand in line to go through security. You stand in line to board. You wait to taxi out. You wait to take off. You wait to use the restroom. You wait in line to deboard. You wait for your luggage. Finally you wait for rental car or whatever. You get to your hotel and you are exhausted already.

I said there must be a better way. When will we be able to just beam over. Beam me up Scotty! Well there is a day coming when we can be like Jesus. Remember when He had risen from the dead and just appeared to the disciples in a locked room. He was able to be touched and ate with them. They all watched Him ascend up through the clouds, too. The Bible says we will have bodies just like His. Sounds even better than beam me up technology. Come Lord Jesus Come!
