Yes, we are back safe and sound from the brink of the Grand Canyon. What a drop; one false step and you are a 'gonner.' Anytime someone, especially one of my family, would walk close to the edge of the canyon, the hair on the back of my neck would rise.
We did enjoy the beauty of the vast and great creation we call the Grand Canyon. It sure makes you appreciate God and how awesome He is, to have created this. What a majestic God we serve. I want to tell you if you ever get a chance -- go see this.
We had a great vacation. We were hot, but it made the pool even more inviting. I did get to sit by the pool a bit and read a good book. I am reading "Next Generation Leader" by Andy Stanley. It is very good. One nugget -- find what you are good at and focus on that. More on that another time.
We stayed in Sedona, Arizona. It was a beautiful spot. The mountainous red rocks were in view from our balcony. Very therapeutic to sit there and look at God's creation in technicolor. It was good to be with our kids. Grant loved Slide Rock State Park, and so did my wife, Susan. It was fun, but slippery as a couple of us took a fall. We all went sliding down the rocks with the rushing creek water. Susan and Grant jumped from some cliffs, too. Jenessa really enjoyed the sunset at the Grand Canyon.
Back to work and school is almost upon us, but we will not forget the great trip we had together.
